What’s to Fear? Learning from Failure

The WPWVC/ACRL Program Committee invites proposals for sessions at the upcoming Spring conference at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Although we don’t always recognize it, problems, mistakes, and unexpected issues are a regular part of our work processes. The 2018 conference theme centers on failures and missteps, obstacles and challenges, and how libraries and librarians have faced them. We want to hear about projects, programs, and ideas that didn’t go as planned. What did you do differently? What did you learn? How did you bounce back? How did you grow? This year we will embrace failures and obstacles to reveal how they have motivated and shaped us.
Types of sessions:
45 minute – can include in-depth presentations, panel presentations, Q&A sessions, roundtable discussions
10 minute or less – can include lightning round style short presentations, PechaKucha, Ignite
Posters – for Graduate Students only
While proposals related to the program theme will receive a higher priority, all topics related to academic libraries are welcomed and encouraged.

by March 16, 2018.
Notifications of acceptance will be made by April 2, 2018 after a blind peer-review process. Questions about presentations and submissions may be directed to the Program Committee <[email protected]>.
