Show Up and Talk: A Mentoring Space

2/9/2026

Getting ready for a presentation? Stuck on a research idea? Not sure how to shape your proposal, paper, or presentation?

Join the WPWVC-ACRL Program Committee at 2 PM Monday, March 2 via Zoom for an informal dialogue and idea-sharing session!

Show Up and Talk is a welcoming, informal dialogue designed to provide support at any stage of the writing, research, or presenting process. Whether you're brainstorming a new idea, preparing to submit to a conference, or navigating the peer review process, we're here for each other. This opportunity is for everyone, from graduate students to experienced researchers alike. Membership in the association is not required.

Volunteers will show up and take no more than five minutes to talk through a single slide outlining your project or need, and we’ll facilitate connections to support you through
• Brainstorming
• Presentation practice
• A sounding board for research ideas

Sessions are relaxed and collaborative, with an emphasis on connection, clarity, and confidence. You bring the topic and we’ll provide the structure.

Show Up and Talk is part mentoring, part community, and all about making scholarship more doable (and less lonely). Please complete this online form to register and let us know how you’d like to engage during the session. You will receive the sign-in details via email. This event is coordinated by the 2025-2026 WPWVC-ACRL Program Committee.
