The ad hoc Professional Development Committee is offering you the exciting opportunity to have your resume/CV/cover letter reviewed by your peers - OR - for you to be a reviewer of these items for your soon-to-be very grateful peers.

Who is eligible to participate?
This service is open to all members and potential members of the chapter at any stage of their career.
How to participate:
Please e-mail us at [email protected] with all the material that you would like to have reviewed. If you could also attach the job description, that will help give our reviewers more information to provide a better review. In the body of your e-mail please answer these questions:
Name: Years within the field: Job title desired (or approx.): Type/size of institution desired: Are you a WPWVCACRL Member: We'll take care of censoring your name and the college's name and whatnot when we send these along to our volunteers. Please give us (and the reviewers!) a total of 2 weeks to get your review back to you. |
for Reviewers
Who can be a reviewer?
We need all sorts of library and information professionals who are willing to read resumes/cover letters and offer their insight/honest feedback. All types and levels of experience are desired.
What are you committing yourself to?
You get to decide. The volunteer form asks you how many resumes/cover letters you would be willing to review a month. You'll have 10 days to review the documents and send the submission back to us.
Because it is often impossible to completely hide the identity of the person submitting the resume, we also expect reviewers to maintain confidentiality of applicant information. For more details on what type of feedback you will be expected to give, please see our Reviewer Guidelines. What do you get out of it?
The satisfaction of helping a colleague in need! As an added bonus, we will even send you an acknowledgement letter you can use as evidence for performance evaluations/promotions that is suitable for framing!
